We specialize in helping our clients get the right payroll processing system set up and streamlined to meet their needs. In some cases, when our clients begin working with us they already make use of a payroll processing platform that is suitable for their operations and we just step in to manage this payroll processing system. In other cases, we work with clients to choose the best payroll processing system to meet their current needs, and get them set up and rolling. In these cases, we make recommendations as to which platforms might be most suitable given their business structure, then we take care of payroll set-up, and help manage the ongoing payroll related responsibilities. What is more, no matter the state of your payroll when you come to us, we’re happy to share our knowledge of this complicated landscape in order to either improve your current setup, or migrate your payroll to a better one. We work with all of the major payroll processors and PEOs (Professional Employer Organizations), and stay abreast of the latest technology and software offerings in the payroll space so that we can better help our clients. Our goal is to identify the payroll processing solution that will best meet our clients’ needs. EMPLOYER REGISTRATION
As a business owner or non profit manager, you will most likely be hiring employees for your organization, thanks to growth or due to attrition. Hiring new employees is almost always exciting, and often needs to be done quickly and efficiently, but you must meet strict employer registration requirements at the Federal, State, and Local government levels in order to stay compliant and avoid potential significant penalties. Employer registration rules vary by jurisdiction, making the process of actually registering as an employer difficult and confusing, especially if your employees reside in multiple States. At Profit Line, our team is experienced with navigating complex employer registration requirements for our clients, and we can help you with this, too.
To start, we will make sure you are registered as an employer at the Federal government level. This means registering with the IRS and obtaining an Employer Identification Number (EIN). Your EIN will be used on quarterly and annual tax returns as well as on forms like with W-2. Once you have been assigned an EIN, we can also set you up with an account on the e-payment platform for Federal taxes known as Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS).
Next comes State and Local employer registrations. You must have filed your employer registration in each State and Local taxing jurisdiction where an employee of yours is considered a tax resident. For many companies, this means being registered in multiple States and Municipalities, each of which has its own specific regulations and timelines for the employer registration process. Our team will help you navigate the nuances of each state and local jurisdiction that you need to be registered in, and we will also make sure that you are appropriately set up to pay your SUTA, or State unemployment tax, and workers’ compensation insurance. As you continue to hire employees, you will be required to report them to the appropriate state, which Profit Line will also assist you with.
As you can see, there are many steps and rules to follow when becoming an employer and bringing on new employees. Employer registrations can be tricky, making it very easy to get bogged down with the details. As a small or medium-sized business owner, or non profit manager, you simply do not have the time to sort through every nuance - let the Profit Line take this burden off your shoulders so you can focus on working with your employees and growing your business or non profit.

The process of hiring new employees can often be complex and loaded with paperwork. This is a lot of information to collect from, and to get across to, your employees. You want to have everything done right so that employees have a positive initial experience as new members of your team.
With so many steps to complete and details to get right, it comes as no surprise that employee onboarding can often be stress-inducing and fraught with hiccups. Our mission is to give your employees the best introduction to your company possible and to streamline the steps needed for them to become active members of your team.
